Security Center

Security at Urkut is taken very seriously. Even though we're a nostalgic, community-driven project, we use modern development practices to keep your experience fun and safe.

💳 Payments, paid communities and digital items

When you subscribe to paid communities or buy items/currency for games, payment processing runs through a specialized payment gateway. Urkut uses payment data only to complete the purchase/subscription and prevent fraud.

🔒 Golden rule: Urkut does not store full card numbers, expiration dates, or CVV. That's handled by the provider (tokenization/PCI-DSS). Urkut only keeps transaction records (status, amount, IDs and required receipts).

🧩 LGPD and incident response

Security and privacy go hand in hand. We follow protection measures compliant with Brazil's LGPD (art. 46) and have an incident response process. In case of a relevant event, we act to contain/remediate and, when applicable, notify data subjects and/or the ANPD (art. 48). The data subject contact channel (privacy/DPO) is listed in our Privacy Policy.

🔐 Password Protection

Your password is personal, confidential and protected by one-way encryption. This means that, at sign-up, it's transformed into an encrypted code that can't be reversed back to its original form.

Not even system administrators can see your real password. If you forget it, you'll need to reset it — it can never be "recovered."

Never share your password with anyone. Urkut's team will never ask for your password by message, email or any other means.

🖥️ Infrastructure

The platform is hosted on a dedicated server, allowing greater control, stability and monitoring. We constantly work to keep the environment updated and protected against common vulnerabilities.

🛡️ Good practices for your security

Security also depends on you. Some important recommendations:

🤝 A healthy environment

Urkut is a space for respect and good coexistence. If you encounter abusive behavior, spam or any suspicious activity, contact us through the contact page.

Our goal is to provide a nostalgic environment, but with the responsibility and protection today's internet demands.

Security isn't just technology — it's a commitment. And that commitment is to you.
